- Date
- Time
- Number of persons in your group
- Approximate age of visitors
- Any special purpose or needs associated with your visit
Reservation Process & Criteria
- Telephone the Fire Station you wish to visit and confirm arrangements.
- The Public may schedule a visit between the hours of 10 a.m. to Noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. Special arrangements may be available for organizations needing evening tours.
- To assure safety, large groups with young children must include an adequate number of adult chaperones.
- If driving to the Fire Station, please park your vehicle so that it does not block the response of a Fire Engine.
- Visitors are permitted only when our Firefighters are at the station.
- The need for Lafayette Fire Department members to attend drills, participate in training classes, complete station duties, maintain equipment, may require us to limit or adjust the time spent with visitors.
- Tours should be scheduled at least 14 days in advance.
- Visits may be abruptly ended or postponed if personnel must respond to an emergency! Fire stations remain "in-service" during tours. Fire companies may need to respond to emergencies at any time. If they do, it will be necessary for the tour to end and your group to exit the station. Please keep this in mind when visiting.
- Firefighters have serious work to do. Birthday party groups are welcome to tour a fire station but may not hold party festivities at the station. No cake and ice cream please.
- Public safety employees and others on official business seeking an agency tour must contact Fire Department Headquarters directly.
